Project Parameters
This project was done for my 2D Design class sophmore year, the objective was to take two songs and create an album cover based on those songs. We were encouraged to use any form of media that we felt would be ideal to creating the album covers. This project was super fun to do because your imagination was going at every second on ideas to experiment with.

Hellboy Cover
The album cover on the right is for the song Hellboy by Lil Peep. The song is about being viewed as the outcast in society, which Peep expressed in his lyrics. I recreated this feeling by adding elements of gritty to the album; this was accomplished by burning the edges of the artboard till they were charred and covered in soot and adding the wire cage around the devilish figure. Intially, I only had the burnt edges but the idea of adding picture wire as a cage felt very symbolic to Peep's lyrics of feeling alone in the world.

Staring At The Sky Cover
The cover on the left is for Staring At The Sky by XXXTentacion. This song is about the pain that X endured and the aimless approach he took in life. This piece was more abstract than the last because I created it based on how the song made me feel. This piece was mixed media: using paints, charcoal, markers, and colored pencils. I wanted to capture the feeling of this dark and treacherous foreground with X quite literally, staring at the sky, looking at the calm and peaceful sky to come. The song is very agressive upfront but I felt hints of hope behind all of the aggression, which is why I have the stark contrast of the storm to the clear sky.
